The Names Bond…

The new James Bond film, Spectre, is released this week and I’m in a bit of a spying mood! But in the interests of not getting arrested, I’m looking for great spy themed games. So pour yourself a Vodka Martini and have a look at our top 5 spy themed games! Let us know in the comments any of your favourites!

[Redacted]

[row][one_third]redacted[/one_third][two_third]There’s nothing quite like stealing documents from an embassy to get the spy juices flowing, and in this game two spy agencies are competing to find and extract these precious intel. The only thing is, no one knows who is on which team! You’ll have to carefully identify your allies, but until you can don’t trust anyone![/two_third][/row]

Specter Ops

[row][one_third]Specter Ops[/one_third][two_third]Slip passed the overwhelming security around the top secret Raxxon facility as the un-named secret agent, or catch them before they complete their objectives! A hidden movement game in which even the hunters have their own special abilities. The dystopian sci-fi world isn’t exactly James Bond but for infiltrating the bad guys secret base, there is little better![/two_third][/row]

The Resistance

[row][one_third]Resistance[/one_third][two_third]Now for the real test of your abilities! How good are you at lying? How good are you at seeing through a lie? When the fate of the mission is at stake, can you track down the moles within your group? One of the great social deduction games, though if you can’t lie, you’ll struggle with this one. Or being a spy in general![/two_third][/row]

Codenames

[row][one_third]Codenames[/one_third][two_third]Classic spy film! The spies are sent into an area with no idea as to who is on their side, with only vague clues as to their allies’ codenames! Just kidding, this game is all about cleverly communicating your clues to your teammates. You’ll be pushing the limits of your word play to indicate words that correspond to your team, but not words that correspond to the other team, and for God sake don’t let them go anywhere near the assassin word…! A simply masterful party game.[/two_third][/row]

Spyfall

[row][one_third]Spyfall[/one_third][two_third]I think the name alone proves its place on a list of spy games, but it is how the game makes you feel that truly picks it out as the best spy game. Everyone except the spy player, selected in secret at the start of each mission, knows where they are. Slowly, by asking questions of one another, the players must identify the spy, while the spy must piece together the clues to identify the location. It’s a ridiculous premise, but perfectly captures that sense of panic, of not knowing how to act, yet needing to blend in with everyone else to avoid detection![/two_third][/row]
